Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, but may adjust them based on betting action. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome, they can influence the odds on Polymarket to reflect their collective assessment. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before the event begins.
