Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, opportunities for arbitrage may arise. However, it’s important to note that sportsbooks and prediction markets have different costs and incentives, leading to inherent differences in pricing. It's common to see this market adjust quickly to new information, potentially outpacing sportsbook updates.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will rise. Conversely, if sentiment shifts towards another outcome, the price of those shares will increase while the original shares decrease. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the traders.
This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
