Comparing this market to sportsbook odds can reveal where the 'wisdom of the crowd' diverges from professional oddsmakers' assessments of the Butulija vs Popko match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is driven by supply and demand; if more people believe an outcome is likely, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic and real-time representation of expectations.
