Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often include a 'vig' or commission, which influences the payouts, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a large number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely, the odds on this market will reflect that, potentially differing from sportsbook lines that may be influenced by factors like public betting patterns or the sportsbook's risk management. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds in accuracy, particularly when aggregating information from a diverse group of forecasters.
