Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than traditional betting venues, as they are constantly updated by a large and active trading community.
