While sportsbooks may set their lines based on broader public betting trends and adjusted margins, prediction markets reflect the aggregated beliefs of informed participants, potentially offering sharper or more nuanced pricing.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders directly set prices through their bets, which determine the current implied probability for each outcome. The platform’s automated market maker adjusts prices based on the total volume and the balance of bets backing each side. This creates a dynamic, user-driven price that reflects collective trader expectations for the match result.
