Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially incorporating information and analysis beyond what is typically factored into traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, but this market allows for a more dynamic assessment as new information emerges. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information aggregation, market participants, and incentives. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate breaking news or shifts in sentiment compared to sportsbooks, although this isn't always the case.
