Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. It's common to see prediction markets reflect the ‘wisdom of the crowd’ more accurately than sportsbook lines, particularly as new information emerges. Comparing these odds can reveal where the market believes sportsbooks may be mispricing the event.
