Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own analysis and information. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing perspectives, access to information, or simply the dynamic nature of the prediction market. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional forecasts, especially when a significant amount of volume is traded.
