Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a large number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price will move accordingly. This can lead to discrepancies, with prediction markets sometimes offering more favorable odds, especially when there's strong community conviction about an event's outcome. It's a valuable comparison point for informed bettors.
