Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can drive the odds on Polymarket in a different direction. This can lead to discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public opinion shifts regarding the players involved in the Baku tennis match.
