Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can take a position in this market, driving the price to reflect their collective view. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant events or when new information emerges that hasn’t been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines.
