Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by individual predictions and information. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Analyzing the difference between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds can reveal interesting insights into how the public and informed traders view the likelihood of a hole-in-one at the NW Arkansas Championship.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of a hole-in-one being made during the NW Arkansas Championship. As more traders buy shares, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the aggregated opinions of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event’s likelihood. This differs from fixed-odds betting, as the odds adjust constantly based on trading activity.

This market resolves around Sep 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether a hole-in-one is officially recorded during the NW Arkansas Championship tournament. The official tournament results will be used to determine if a hole-in-one occurred. The market will then settle based on this verified information, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome. Traders should monitor official sources for the tournament results to understand the resolution process.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Player performance during the tournament rounds, particularly the skill and history of players known for accuracy, could significantly shift expectations. Weather conditions, such as wind and rain, can also impact the difficulty of making a hole-in-one, leading to price adjustments. Any news regarding course conditions or changes to the tournament setup might also affect trading activity. Unexpected events, like a prominent player withdrawing from the tournament, could also cause movement in this market.
