In the upcoming USL Championship game between Loudoun United FC and Charleston Battery, scheduled for August 8, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Loudoun United FC vs. Charleston Battery match originally scheduled for August 8, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
The event resolves based on whether the total goals scored by both Loudoun United FC and Charleston in their USL Championship match exceed specified thresholds. All markets consider only goals scored within the 90 minutes of regular play plus any stoppage time added by the referee, explicitly excluding goals from extra time or penalty shootouts. Each market defines a different threshold, ranging from more than 0.5 goals up to more than 5.5 goals. If the actual total goals meet or exceed the threshold specified for a given market, that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. All markets share the same underlying match and time constraints, ensuring consistency across different goal-count predictions.
Prediction market odds often reflect sharper, community-driven insights compared to traditional sportsbook lines, which incorporate broader public betting patterns and house margins. In this market, the decentralized nature of platforms allows for rapid adjustments based on new information, such as player injuries or weather changes. Traders may see different implied probabilities than standard sportsbooks, especially when niche or early-line movements occur.
On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary due to differences in user bases, liquidity, and market design. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one platform might attract more soccer-focused traders, skewing its probabilities toward specific scorelines, while the other could reflect general sports bettors. Volume disparities also play a role—lower trading activity can amplify price swings, especially on outcomes with thinner order books.
Injuries to key players, weather forecasts affecting match conditions, or strategic lineup changes announced by coaches can all shift this market. Additionally, early goal momentum during the match may cause rapid probability adjustments on trading platforms. Media narratives and pre-game betting trends also influence trader sentiment leading up to kickoff.
