Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and settlement rule interpretations. Polymarket's first-five-inning outcome may be phrased as a binary winner, while Kalshi's variant could include a run-margin threshold, creating distinct risk profiles. Funding, trading volume, and the timing of major news also influence each platform independently. Arbitrage traders exploit these gaps, but friction costs and platform-specific rules often prevent complete price convergence, making cross-platform comparison valuable for identifying market inefficiencies.
Lineup announcements, injury reports, and bullpen availability will shift odds as traders reassess each team's early-inning strength. Weather conditions, ballpark factors, and starting pitcher form also influence first-five-inning dynamics. Breaking news on player health or roster changes can trigger sharp repricing on both platforms. As game time approaches, real-time betting action and professional trader positioning typically accelerate volatility. Monitor sports news feeds and platform activity closely; early-inning markets can swing rapidly on fresh information about who takes the field.
