These markets track runs batted in (RBIs) for Fernando Tatis Jr., Freddie Freeman, Jackson Merrill, Kyle Tucker, Manny Machado, Mookie Betts, and Shohei Ohtani during the June 26, 2026 Dodgers-Padres game. An RBI is credited when a batter's action directly results in a runner scoring.
Settlement is based on each player's RBIs recorded during the game, provided they start in the lineup and record at least one plate appearance. Players who are scratched or not in the starting lineup resolve to fair market price. Players entering the game as pinch hitters do not count toward settlement. If a starting player fails to record a plate appearance, the market resolves to fair market price. RBIs are credited only for official plate appearances that result in runs being driven in.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets reflect real-time trader consensus on the true probability of an outcome. This market aggregates the collective judgment of many independent traders rather than a single oddsmaker, which can lead to sharper or more reactive pricing during breaking news or late-game momentum shifts. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception and market sentiment align or diverge.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing different RBI outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective willingness of buyers and sellers to transact at that level, with the spread between bid and ask representing the current market uncertainty. As new information emerges—injuries, lineup changes, or weather updates—traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move in real time until the market closes.
This market resolves around Jun 27, 2026, once the game concludes and the final RBI totals are verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the combined runs batted in by both teams during the contest. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on pre-game analysis, live game developments, and trader expectations about offensive performance.
Key catalysts include roster announcements—injuries to star hitters or surprise lineup changes can significantly alter RBI expectations. Weather conditions at game time, such as wind direction or temperature, influence ball carry and offensive output. Bullpen strength and starting pitcher matchups also matter, since weak pitching invites more scoring opportunities. Recent team form, head-to-head trends, and any late-breaking news about player availability will prompt traders to adjust positions, creating price movement in this market leading up to first pitch.
