This market predicts the run differential during the first five innings of the June 28, 2026 game. Bettors wager on whether one team will have a significant scoring advantage through the first five innings.
Resolution depends on the run differential between the teams through the first five innings of the Los Angeles D vs San Diego professional baseball game originally scheduled for Jun 28, 2026 at 4:10 PM EDT. San Diego outcomes resolve to Yes if the Padres lead by more than 2.5 runs or more than 1.5 runs respectively through five innings. Los Angeles outcomes resolve to Yes if the Dodgers lead by more than 1.5 runs or more than 2.5 runs respectively through five innings. All other outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and resolves after the rescheduled game concludes within two days. The official score through five innings as recorded by Major League Baseball determines the outcome.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market reflects what traders believe will happen in the first five innings, whereas sportsbooks may shade their first-five lines based on betting patterns or risk management. Comparing the two can reveal whether the crowd on Kalshi sees value that traditional oddsmakers have priced differently, offering a useful cross-check for your own analysis.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing the outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the latest equilibrium between buyers and sellers; as new information emerges or sentiment shifts, the price adjusts in real time. Traders profit by correctly predicting whether San Diego will win the first five innings by over 2.5 runs, and the market price converges toward the true probability as more capital flows in. Liquidity and spread tightness depend on overall trading activity and participant confidence.
This market resolves around Jun 28, 2026, once the Dodgers-Padres game concludes and the first-five-inning score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome hinges on whether San Diego's run total exceeds Los Angeles's by more than 2.5 runs at the end of the fifth inning. Official box scores and game records will confirm the final tally. Early resolution is possible if the game is called or suspended before five innings are complete, in which case the market settles based on the score at that point.
Several factors can shift odds before this market closes. Lineup announcements, bullpen availability, and weather conditions at game time all influence early-inning scoring potential. Injury updates to key players—especially starting pitchers or power hitters—often trigger sharp price moves. Recent form and head-to-head matchups in the first five innings can also sway trader positioning. Breaking news about roster changes or umpire assignments may ripple through the market. As game time approaches, final weather reports and last-minute lineup confirmations typically drive the most volatile trading activity.
