On Kalshi and Opinion, prices can vary because each platform attracts different participant pools and may apply unique liquidity incentives. Kalshi and Opinion can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one venue might see heavier institutional trading while the other leans retail, skewing its implied probabilities. Additionally, differing fee structures or market design choices can cause temporary misalignments between the two.
Injuries to key players, changes in pitching rotations, or weather disruptions could all shift this market as they alter expected team performance. Additionally, strong performance in earlier matchups between the teams or recent form trends may cause traders to adjust their bets, moving implied odds on this market in the weeks ahead.
