This market tracks whether Freddie Freeman accumulates at least 2 total bases in the Los Angeles Dodgers vs Oakland Athletics baseball game on June 29, 2026. Total bases are calculated by counting singles as 1 base, doubles as 2 bases, triples as 3 bases, and home runs as 4 bases.
Settlement is contingent on Freddie Freeman's participation status and plate appearances. If Freeman is scratched or not in the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If he starts but records no plate appearances, it also resolves to fair market price. Pinch-hit at-bats do not count toward this market. Only if Freeman is in the starting lineup and records at least one plate appearance will the market settle based on actual total bases accumulated during the game.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital. This market lets you compare your own assessment of total bases against what the crowd is pricing in, offering an alternative perspective to conventional betting lines and potentially revealing where consensus may be mispriced.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different total bases outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective confidence of active traders, updating in real time as new orders flow in. Higher prices indicate stronger belief in that outcome, while lower prices suggest skepticism, allowing you to enter or exit positions at market rates determined by live supply and demand.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total bases count—combining hits from both the Dodgers and Athletics—will be established after the game concludes and official statistics are published. Traders holding positions aligned with the verified result will receive payouts, while those on the incorrect side will see their stake returned according to the market's payout structure.
Key catalysts include lineup announcements, injury updates to star players, recent offensive form and batting averages, and pitching matchups that could influence scoring pace. Weather conditions at the stadium—wind direction and temperature affect ball carry—often shift total bases expectations. Late-breaking news about player availability or strategic changes can trigger sharp repricing. As game time approaches, traders may adjust positions based on final confirmations, creating volatility in the final hours before the matchup begins.
