Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates distinct rule sets, user bases, and contract designs. Kalshi structures binary yes-or-no outcomes, while Polymarket offers multiple contract types including tied scenarios. Liquidity pools, fee structures, and trader demographics vary between venues, causing temporary price gaps. Arbitrage opportunities may emerge when one platform prices the Angels or Rangers significantly higher or lower than the other, though transaction costs and settlement risk typically narrow spreads over time.
Injury announcements, lineup changes, and bullpen availability updates typically shift odds before first pitch. Weather conditions, ballpark factors, and recent team form influence early-inning performance expectations. Starting pitcher matchups and platoon splits matter significantly for five-inning outcomes, since relief pitchers rarely appear this early. Breaking news about roster moves or manager decisions can trigger sharp repricing. As game time nears, this market may also react to live betting action and real-time performance cues from other sports betting venues.
