PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market has logically incoherent resolution rules (all outcomes resolve to Yes), and the two platforms reference different game dates (Jul 7 vs Jul 8, 2026). Polymarket provides a coherent three-outcome structure with explicit edge-case handling, while Kalshi's specification is unresolvable as written.Hero tip: This divergence is critical and blocks reliable trading. Confirm the actual game date/time on MLB.com. Polymarket's market structure (three separate binaries for Angels win, Rangers win, and Tie) is standard and resolvable. Kalshi's rules require immediate clarification from the platform before any position should be taken.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Game date listed as Jul 7, 2026 at 8:05 PM EDT. Resolution logic states: 'If Los Angeles A wins the first 5 innings... then the market resolves to Yes. If Texas wins the first 5 innings... then the market resolves to Yes. If Los Angeles A and Texas tie in the first 5 innings... then the market resolves to Yes.' This creates a logical contradiction—all three mutually exclusive outcomes cannot all resolve to Yes in a single market.
  • Polymarket: Game date listed as July 8, 2026 at 8:05 PM ET. Three separate markets: (1) 'Los Angeles Angels winning after 5 innings?' resolves to Angels, Rangers, or Draw. (2) 'Texas Rangers winning after 5 innings?' resolves to Angels, Rangers, or Draw. (3) 'Tied after 5 innings?' resolves to Angels, Rangers, or Draw. Explicit edge cases: postponement keeps market open until 5th inning completion; cancellation with no makeup resolves 50-50. Primary source is official MLB statistics or credible reporting consensus within 24 hours.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Resolution is based on the score at the end of the first 5 innings of the Los Angeles A vs Texas professional baseball game originally scheduled for July 7, 2026 at 8:05 PM EDT. If Los Angeles A leads after 5 innings, the Los Angeles A outcome resolves to Yes. If Texas leads after 5 innings, the Texas outcome resolves to Yes. If the score is tied after 5 innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game finishes within two days.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price the same event through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets let traders freely buy and sell contracts, with prices reflecting aggregate belief. This market often moves faster than traditional sportsbooks because traders can react instantly to lineup changes, weather, or injury news. Comparing this market's implied odds to your preferred sportsbook can reveal value—if one side is consistently mispriced, sharp bettors exploit the gap until equilibrium returns.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and contract structures. Polymarket and Kalshi may frame the outcome differently—one focusing on a team win, the other on a tie scenario—leading to non-obvious price gaps. Platform fees, user interface design, and regulatory constraints also shape how quickly each market reacts to new information. Tracking both simultaneously helps you spot arbitrage opportunities and understand which framing the broader prediction community finds most intuitive.

Lineup announcements, starting pitcher changes, and injury updates typically drive the largest price swings before game time. Weather conditions—wind direction and speed at the ballpark—can favor hitters or pitchers and shift early-inning scoring expectations. Betting action from sharp syndicates often signals where informed money is flowing. Once the game begins, each run scored in the first five innings will trigger immediate repricing. Late-breaking news on player availability or bullpen usage can also shift odds significantly in the final hours before first pitch.
