Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform differences in liquidity, user base composition, and fee structures can create pricing gaps. Polymarket and Kalshi attract traders with different risk appetites and information sets. Kalshi's regulatory framework and contract design may appeal to more conservative predictors, while Polymarket's structure draws active crypto-native traders. Arbitrage opportunities between platforms are limited by withdrawal friction and time delays, allowing temporary price discrepancies to persist. Monitoring both platforms helps identify which community is more confident in a particular outcome and whether consensus is tightening as the game approaches.
Injury announcements, lineup changes, and weather updates can shift odds significantly before first pitch. Starting pitcher performance history, bullpen availability, and recent team form all influence early-inning expectations. Live trading during the game itself—particularly after the first inning or two—will reflect actual performance, causing sharp repricing. Unexpected early runs, errors, or pitching changes in the opening frames drive rapid position adjustments. Monitor team news, Vegas moneyline movement, and platform volume spikes as indicators of shifting sentiment. Late-breaking roster decisions or weather delays may also trigger volatility in the hours before the game begins.
