Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the mechanisms behind price discovery. Sportsbooks set lines based on internal models and aim to balance action, while prediction markets like Polymarket and Predict rely on the collective intelligence of traders. This means prediction markets can sometimes incorporate information more quickly and efficiently than sportsbooks, leading to more accurate probabilities. Furthermore, prediction markets typically have lower transaction costs, encouraging more active trading and potentially more refined pricing. This market’s odds reflect the aggregate view of informed participants.
