PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market resolves to Yes for all possible outcomes (Angels win, tie, or Diamondbacks win in first 5 innings), rendering it logically incoherent and unresolvable. Polymarket provides three distinct, mutually exclusive outcomes with proper resolution logic.Hero tip: Do not trade on Kalshi. This market is broken and will always resolve Yes. Use Polymarket exclusively, which offers three separate, properly structured markets: Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Draw, each with clear resolution criteria based on the score after 5 innings.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market structure is a logical tautology: all three possible game outcomes (Angels win, tie, Diamondbacks win) are mapped to Yes resolution. This violates basic market design and makes the market unresolvable and untradeable. Key Quote: 'If Los Angeles A wins... resolves to Yes. If... tie... resolves to Yes. If Arizona wins... resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Offers three distinct, mutually exclusive markets with proper resolution: Los Angeles Angels (if Angels ahead after 5 innings), Arizona Diamondbacks (if Diamondbacks ahead after 5 innings), and Draw (if tied after 5 innings). Each outcome is independently resolvable with clear criteria. Key Quote: 'This market will resolve to Los Angeles Angels if... winning... Arizona Diamondbacks if... winning... Draw if... tied.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on peer-to-peer pricing, where traders themselves set odds by buying and selling shares. This differs from traditional sportsbooks, which employ oddsmakers and adjust lines to manage liability. Prediction markets often reflect real-time conviction more directly, since traders risk capital on their own forecasts rather than following a house model. For this market, comparing the implied probabilities across platforms can reveal whether consensus leans toward one team's early-inning advantage, independent of sportsbook spreads or moneylines.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform differences in user base, liquidity depth, and fee structures can create pricing gaps. Polymarket attracts traders focused on event-driven binary outcomes, while Kalshi's regulatory framework and market design may appeal to a different participant pool. Liquidity imbalances—where one platform has concentrated volume—can also widen spreads. Additionally, each platform's order-book dynamics and settlement rules may cause temporary divergences that arbitrageurs gradually close. Monitoring both venues reveals where conviction is strongest and identifies potential value.

Lineup announcements, bullpen availability, and weather conditions are primary catalysts for this market. If either team announces a key injury or unexpected roster change, odds will shift to reflect altered pitching or offensive depth. Weather—particularly wind direction and temperature—affects ball carry and can favor one team's style. Starting pitcher form, recent head-to-head records in early innings, and home-field advantage also drive trader sentiment. Breaking news about player health or umpire assignments in the 24 hours before game time can trigger sharp moves as informed traders position ahead of first pitch.
