On Polymarket, the leading outcome "Game 3: Both Teams Slay a Dragon?" stands at 100.0%. Resolution will be determined by official League of Legends match data from gol.gg. This market refers to the LoL Upper bracket semifinal 2 match between Hanwha Life Esports and G2 Esports in the Mid-Season Invitational Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 5 at 4:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Hanwha Life Esports" if Hanwha Life Esports win the match against G2 Esports. This market will resolve to "G2 Esports" if G2 Esports win the match against Hanwha Life Esports. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://gol.gg/esports/home. However, if https://gol.gg/esports/home has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one aggregate the beliefs of many independent traders without a built-in house edge. Traders here profit by identifying mispricings, which can make prediction markets more efficient at pricing uncertainty over time. However, sportsbooks may move faster on breaking news or injury reports, and their odds are shaped by sharp bettors and algorithms. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus opinion differs most sharply.
This market resolves around Jul 5, 2026, once the best-of-five series concludes and the winner is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team wins the required number of games to claim the match. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final game, pending confirmation from official League of Legends esports channels and tournament administrators. Early resolution is possible if one team clinches mathematically before all five games are played.
Key catalysts include roster announcements, player substitutions, or last-minute lineup changes that shift perceived team strength. Scrim results or practice footage leaked before the match can sway trader sentiment significantly. Meta shifts in the current League patch, champion buffs or nerfs, and ban-phase strategy adjustments all influence expectations. Pre-match interviews, coach statements, or analyst predictions may trigger repricing as new information enters the market. Team performance in earlier tournament rounds, head-to-head records, and historical matchup data also drive trading activity as the event approaches.
