On Polymarket, G2 Esports to win is priced at 100.0%, with resolution determined by gol.gg. This market refers to the LoL Lower bracket quarterfinal 2 match between G2 Esports and T1 in the Mid-Season Invitational Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 8 at 4:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "G2 Esports" if G2 Esports win the match against T1. This market will resolve to "T1" if T1 win the match against G2 Esports. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://gol.gg/esports/home. However, if https://gol.gg/esports/home has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven purely by trader consensus on true probability. In esports, prediction markets can react faster to roster changes, scrim results, and meta shifts that traditional sportsbooks may lag on. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines on the same matchup can reveal where one venue sees value the other has missed, though prediction markets typically show tighter spreads on high-volume events.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds continuously as traders place buy and sell orders. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top outcome currently reflects strong conviction among participants, with pricing updated in real time to balance supply and demand. Liquidity depth determines how much slippage occurs on larger trades, and the order book shows where buyers and sellers cluster. This mechanism ensures prices stay responsive to new information about team form, patch changes, and tournament momentum right up until resolution.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the best-of-five series concludes and the winner is verified against credible public reporting from official League of Legends esports channels. The outcome is determined by which team wins the required number of games to claim the series. Individual game-winner markets resolve as each game concludes, while series-outcome markets settle only after the final game is played. Traders should monitor official broadcast schedules and tournament updates to anticipate resolution timing.
Key catalysts include roster announcements, player health updates, and recent scrim performance leaks that hint at team readiness. Meta shifts from balance patches can favor one team's champion pool over the other, triggering sharp repricing. Live match results during the group stage or earlier playoff rounds will reset expectations for both squads. Coach interviews, analyst predictions, and betting-market activity on related markets can also shift sentiment. Any unexpected roster swaps or visa delays would create immediate volatility, as would dominant performances in warm-up matches that signal momentum heading into the series.
