This market tracks the outcome of the second set in a professional tennis match between Lois Boisson and Dayana Yastremska at the 2026 WTA Nottingham tournament. One of the two players will win the set, and the market resolves based on who prevails in that specific set.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 2 of the Lois Boisson vs Dayana Yastremska professional tennis match in the 2026 WTA Nottingham Round Of 32. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money commitment. For a tennis set winner, sportsbooks may adjust lines based on sharp action and risk management, whereas this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. Comparing the two can reveal value opportunities, though prediction markets typically offer tighter spreads once sufficient volume accumulates.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each player's chance to win Set 2. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the market's collective estimate of that outcome's probability, ranging from near-zero to near-100 cents per contract. As traders place bids and offers, the mid-market price adjusts in real time. Higher trading volume typically tightens the bid-ask spread, making prices more reliable and execution more efficient for both buyers and sellers.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once the second set of the Boisson vs Yastremska match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to standard tennis scoring rules. Traders holding contracts for the winning player receive their payout, while contracts for the losing player expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the set's completion, pending confirmation from official match records or reputable sports data providers.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before the set concludes. Early match performance—such as one player breaking serve or winning the first few games—often triggers significant repricing as traders update their win probability estimates. Injury reports, weather delays, or momentum swings during play can also drive rapid price movements. Player fatigue from the first set, court conditions, and real-time commentary from analysts may influence trader sentiment. Major upsets or unexpected tactical adjustments typically generate the largest market reactions as new information becomes available to traders.
