Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis that may not be fully priced into traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. This can lead to differences in probabilities, particularly as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or changes in team lineups than sportsbooks, potentially offering a more up-to-date assessment of the likely outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the perceived chance of that outcome occurring. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, with traders constantly adjusting their positions based on new information and their own analysis of the match.

This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the result will be determined by which team – Liverpool LFC or Tottenham Hotspur FC – wins the second half of the match. The official match result, as reported by a trusted sports data provider, will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome in this market. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the resolution is finalized on Polymarket.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Tottenham would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced by the managers could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, unexpected weather conditions or refereeing decisions during the match itself could shift sentiment and alter the perceived probabilities. Even public statements from players or coaches expressing confidence or concern could contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
