The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on models and internal analysis, while prediction markets are driven by individuals betting their own capital. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets may incorporate information not fully captured by sportsbook algorithms. While sportsbooks may initially have an edge due to quicker adjustments, prediction markets can become increasingly accurate as more information and trading activity occur, providing a valuable comparison point for informed decision-making.
Prices on Polymarket and Predict can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base with varying risk appetites and information access, leading to differing opinions on the probability of either team scoring first. Trading volume also plays a role; higher volume on one platform can lead to more efficient price discovery. Furthermore, the specific mechanisms for trading and market making on Polymarket and Predict contribute to price discrepancies. These differences reflect the independent assessments of traders on each platform.
