The market resolves Yes to whichever player wins set 2 of the Liudmila Samsonova vs Marie Bouzkova match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 32. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play will resolve accordingly; those that cannot will resolve to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market reflects what active traders believe will happen, unfiltered by a bookmaker's profit target. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where consensus differs—sportsbooks may lag behind emerging information, or traders may be overconfident. Tracking both sources helps identify value and potential mispricings.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective probability traders assign to that outcome, ranging from 0 to 100 cents. As new trades execute, prices adjust in real time. Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by holding shares until resolution. The platform's matching engine ensures transparent price discovery and fair execution for all participants.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the second set of the Samsonova vs Bouzkova match concludes and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official tennis scoring rules. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing shares expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match completion, allowing for final confirmation from reliable sports data providers.
Several factors can shift odds before the match begins or during play. Pre-match catalysts include recent head-to-head records, current ranking and form, court surface preference, and injury reports. Once play starts, live performance—break points, momentum swings, and set momentum—will drive rapid repricing. Weather conditions, crowd energy, and tactical adjustments can also influence trader sentiment. News of player fatigue or unexpected form changes may trigger significant moves. Traders monitoring these signals in real time can capitalize on price inefficiencies as new information enters the market.
