This market determines who wins the second set of the professional tennis match between Liudmila Samsonova and Elina Svitolina at the 2026 WTA Bad Homburg Round of 16 on June 23. The winner of set 2 will be determined by standard tennis scoring rules.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 2 of the Samsonova vs Svitolina match at the 2026 WTA Bad Homburg Round of 16. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by trader conviction and real-money risk. This market aggregates beliefs from many independent traders betting their own capital, which can reveal information sportsbooks haven't yet priced in. However, sportsbooks may move faster on breaking news or injury reports. Comparing the two can highlight where consensus differs and identify potential value opportunities in either venue.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective probability traders assign to that outcome winning the set. As new trades execute, prices update in real time. Traders can place limit orders to wait for their target price or market orders for immediate execution. The spread between bid and ask prices represents the current liquidity and trading friction, tightening as more volume flows through the market.
This market resolves around Jun 23, 2026, once the second set of the match concludes and the winner is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to standard tennis scoring rules. No partial credit is awarded; the market pays out only to holders of the winning outcome. Early resolution may occur if the match is abandoned or the set is voided under tournament rules. Traders should monitor official match updates and the platform's resolution timeline as the event date approaches.
Several factors can shift odds before the match begins and during play. Pre-match catalysts include recent tournament results, head-to-head records, court surface preference, and injury or fitness updates for either player. Once the match starts, the outcome of the first set often influences expectations for the second, as momentum and fatigue become visible. Serve performance, break-point conversion rates, and tactical adjustments during the first set can all signal which player may dominate the second. Real-time trading activity itself can also move prices as sharp bettors react faster than the broader market to unfolding events.
