On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is driven entirely by supply and demand, meaning the collective judgment of traders determines the probabilities displayed. This contrasts with fixed-odds betting where the odds are set by a bookmaker.
This market resolves around Oct 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Leonov vs. Slabyshev match, as reported by recognized sporting authorities. The platform will verify the results against these sources to determine which outcome is the winner. Traders who hold shares in the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 1, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or unexpected performance in preceding matches could shift trader sentiment. Public opinion, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, might also play a role. Unexpected weather conditions, if applicable to the match location, could also be a catalyst. Essentially, any information that alters the perceived probability of either athlete winning will likely cause the market to react and adjust accordingly.
