Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when public sentiment strongly disagrees with the sportsbook's initial assessment. It's common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information emerges and traders adjust their positions based on their own analysis of the Kuzyshyn vs. Zhyrnov match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd regarding the Kuzyshyn vs. Zhyrnov match.
