Prediction market odds, like those found on Kalshi and Predict, often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, incorporating a margin. This market, however, allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the outcome, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. While sportsbooks may initially have different odds, they often adjust closer to prediction market prices as the event approaches, demonstrating the predictive power of a decentralized forecasting approach.
