Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect crowd wisdom rather than set bookmaker margins. In this market, the crowd-driven price may show sharper shifts based on trader activity, while sportsbooks typically apply a consistent overhead to ensure profit. Comparing the two can reveal where public sentiment diverges from institutional pricing models.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders continuously bid and offer contracts that represent their belief in each possible outcome. This dynamic pricing adjusts instantly to new information and trader behavior, allowing the market to self-correct based on real-time participation.
