Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and need to build in a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It’s common to see this market align with sportsbook odds as the event approaches, but early on, differences can be substantial.
