Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by individuals freely expressing their beliefs. If there's a significant discrepancy, it might indicate that the crowd perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that there’s an arbitrage opportunity. It’s important to compare both to form your own informed opinion about the likely outcome of the match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, and provides a constantly updating forecast for the Khyzhnyak vs. Lysyi match.
