Description

In the upcoming KHL game, scheduled for March 25 at 12:00PM ET: If Ak Bars Kazan win, the market will resolve to "Ak Bars Kazan". If Traktor win, the market will resolve to "Traktor". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods and shootouts. In the event of a shootout, one goal will be added to the winning team's score for the purpose of resolution.

Issue:

Kalshi and Polymarket use fundamentally incompatible resolution logic for the same event. Kalshi resolves YES for either team winning (logical contradiction), while Polymarket resolves to the winning team's name. This makes Kalshi's market unresolvable as written.

Hero Tip:

Do not trade on Kalshi's version of this market—it contains a logical error that makes it impossible to resolve correctly. Polymarket's market is the only resolvable version: it resolves to 'Ak Bars Kazan' if Ak Bars Kazan wins, or 'Traktor' if Traktor wins. Trade only on Polymarket.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi: Outlier: Kalshi's market resolves YES if either Ak Bars Kazan wins OR Traktor wins, creating a logical contradiction where every possible outcome triggers YES. The rules state 'If Ak Bars Kazan wins...then the market resolves to Yes' and separately 'If Traktor Chelyabinsk wins...then the market resolves to Yes,' leaving no scenario for a NO resolution.
  • Polymarket: Outlier: Polymarket resolves to a categorical outcome—'Ak Bars Kazan' if Ak Bars Kazan wins, 'Traktor' if Traktor wins—with explicit handling for postponement (market remains open) and cancellation (50-50 split). This is a proper categorical market, not a binary YES/NO market.
