Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, incorporating a built-in margin. Prediction markets, by contrast, aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery, with no house margin. This market reflects what thousands of independent traders believe the exact score will be, whereas a sportsbook's line reflects both probability estimates and commercial positioning. Over time, prediction markets have proven competitive with or more accurate than traditional oddsmakers on event outcomes, though exact-score markets carry higher variance due to their specificity.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker and order-book mechanism that allows traders to buy and sell shares representing each possible exact score. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has its own price, expressed as a probability between 0 and 100 percent. Traders profit by correctly predicting the final scoreline; those who buy low and the outcome occurs collect the full payout. The price of each outcome fluctuates based on supply and demand, meaning significant new information or trading activity can shift odds rapidly. This continuous repricing ensures the market reflects the latest available information about team form, injuries, and other relevant factors.
This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the match concludes and the final scoreline is confirmed. The outcome is determined by the verified result of the game, checked against credible public sources such as official league records or established sports data providers. No ambiguity exists in exact-score markets—the result either matches one of the listed outcomes or it does not. Traders should monitor for any official postponements or rescheduling announcements, as these would affect the resolution timeline. Settlement occurs promptly after the match ends and the score is publicly confirmed.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before kickoff and during the match. Team news—injuries to key players, lineup changes, or tactical announcements—often triggers sharp price moves. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions at the venue can influence trader expectations about goal-scoring patterns. Early match events, such as an early goal or red card, typically cause significant repricing as the probability of various scorelines changes. Betting syndicates and sharp traders may also move odds based on proprietary models or information advantages. Monitor official team communications and sports news outlets for developments that could affect how traders assess the likelihood of each exact outcome.
