Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently. Sportsbooks set odds based on internal models and risk management, then adjust them to balance their book. Prediction markets, by contrast, aggregate trader beliefs through continuous buying and selling—the price reflects what thousands of participants collectively believe will happen. This market's odds may diverge from sportsbook lines because traders incorporate live match data, injury reports, and tactical shifts in real time, sometimes faster than sportsbooks can adjust their fixed lines.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that balances supply and demand for each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability reflects the cumulative conviction of all active traders. As more capital flows toward one outcome, its price rises and the opposing outcome's price falls. This continuous repricing ensures the market stays responsive to new information, team news, and live match developments throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, once the second half result is final and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals in the second half of the match. No draws are typically offered in second-half markets, so one team must emerge with a higher goal tally after the 45-minute period concludes. Resolution happens automatically once the result is confirmed and reported through established sports data channels.
Several factors can shift odds before the match begins and during the first half. Team news—injuries, lineup changes, or tactical announcements—often triggers sharp repricing. Early first-half momentum, goals, and red cards all influence trader expectations for the second half. Weather conditions, venue factors, and recent form updates can also sway sentiment. As the first half unfolds, traders adjust their second-half forecasts based on how each team is performing, creating dynamic price movement right up until the second half kicks off.
