Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set fixed lines designed to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders who continuously adjust based on new information and their beliefs about the outcome. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more responsive pricing because they aggregate real-time trader conviction rather than relying on a bookmaker's static model. However, sportsbook odds may include different liquidity pools and promotional incentives, so comparing the two can reveal valuable arbitrage opportunities or consensus shifts in how the event is perceived.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that allows traders to buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative bets placed by all participants; as more traders buy shares predicting one result, the price of that outcome rises and others fall. This continuous, decentralized pricing mechanism means the odds update instantly in response to new information, trades, and market sentiment. Traders profit by correctly predicting the second-half result and selling their shares at a higher price than they paid.

This market resolves around Jul 30, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second half only; the first-half score does not factor into the resolution. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive their payout once the result is confirmed and the market is officially settled. Until that time, prices will continue to fluctuate based on live match developments and trader positioning.

Several factors could shift prices significantly before resolution. Team news—such as injuries to key players, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments announced before kickoff—often triggers sharp market moves. Early match momentum, including goals scored in the first half or red cards, can reshape trader expectations for the second-half outcome. Weather conditions, crowd atmosphere, and in-game events like substitutions or momentum swings will influence how traders reassess their positions. Additionally, any breaking news about player availability or external circumstances affecting either team could prompt rapid repricing as new information reaches the market.
