Description
This event is for the WBB game between Kentucky Wildcats and West Virginia Mountaineers on March 23 at 5:00 PM ET.
If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed.
If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50.
Kalshi resolves to YES for either outcome (Kentucky or West Virginia win), creating a tautological market, while Polymarket resolves to a specific winner name (Kentucky Wildcats or West Virginia Mountaineers), creating a mutually exclusive binary outcome.
Hero Tip:
Kalshi's market structure guarantees a YES resolution regardless of game outcome, making it unsuitable for directional betting. Polymarket's market requires you to pick the actual winner. Do not treat these as equivalent bets — Kalshi is effectively a cancellation/postponement hedge, while Polymarket is a true winner-pick market.
Critical Divergence Points:
Kalshi: Outlier: Resolves YES if Kentucky wins OR if West Virginia wins, meaning the market resolves YES in all realistic game outcomes. Key quote: 'If Kentucky wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If West Virginia wins...then the market resolves to Yes.'
Polymarket: Distinct stance: Resolves to exactly one of two mutually exclusive outcomes — either 'Kentucky Wildcats' or 'West Virginia Mountaineers' — based on the actual game winner. Key quote: 'If the Kentucky Wildcats win, the market will resolve to Kentucky Wildcats. If the West Virginia Mountaineers win, the market will resolve to West Virginia Mountaineers.'
