This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Kent State and South Carolina. Each market corresponds to a different threshold of points, allowing participants to speculate on the exact level of scoring intensity in the last quarter of play.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the 4th quarter of the Kent St. vs South Carolina college football game scheduled for Sep 5, 2026, excluding any points scored in overtime. For each market, if the combined 4th quarter points exceed the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the standard 4th quarter count, and overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks typically set lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likely outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, analytical approaches, or simply variations in opinion. It's common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available or as the event draws nearer.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing potential outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust accordingly. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market operates on a zero-sum basis, meaning that for every buyer, there is a seller, and gains are offset by losses. This dynamic ensures that prices remain competitive and reflective of current market sentiment.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the fourth quarter of the Kent State vs South Carolina game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and transparent process. Traders will be able to view the resolution details on Kalshi following the conclusion of the game and verification of the results.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or weather conditions could impact trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in earlier parts of the game, or even pre-game analysis suggesting a shift in team dynamics, could also lead to significant price movements. Public opinion, as reflected in social media or expert predictions, might also play a role, although the market's collective intelligence often surpasses individual forecasts. Monitoring these signals can help you understand potential shifts in the market.
