These markets evaluate whether the combined scoring in the second half of a college football game between Kent State and South Carolina exceeds specific thresholds. The outcomes depend solely on the points accumulated after halftime, excluding any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (excluding overtime) of the Kent St. vs South Carolina college football game scheduled for Sep 5, 2026. Each market has a different threshold for resolution, ranging from more than 2.5 points to more than 47.5 points. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count, and Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and the insights of their oddsmakers, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from the mispricing between the two types of markets.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders submit bids and asks, and the market price fluctuates based on supply and demand. Essentially, buyers and sellers determine the probability of the 2nd half total falling above or below the listed value. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price represents the market’s assessment of the likelihood of a particular outcome. Higher prices indicate a greater perceived probability, while lower prices suggest a lower probability. Traders can take either the 'buy' side (believing the total will be higher) or the 'sell' side (believing it will be lower).
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Kent State vs. South Carolina game will determine whether the total points scored fall above or below the market’s implied threshold. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and objective determination of the outcome. Traders will then be paid out or have their positions closed based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Kent State or South Carolina would likely have a significant impact, as would updates on weather conditions that could affect scoring. Changes in public perception, driven by expert analysis or social media sentiment, can also cause shifts in the market. Finally, any in-game developments during the first half – such as a dominant performance by one team – could lead to adjustments in the market price as traders react to the unfolding events.
