PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's resolution criteria contains a logical contradiction: both a KT Wiz win and a Doosan Bears win are stated to resolve to Yes, making the market fundamentally unresolvable as a binary outcome.Hero tip: Avoid trading on Kalshi until the platform clarifies the intended resolution logic. The contradiction makes it impossible to determine the correct settlement. Polymarket's market is clear and safe to trade.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Binary outcome market with clear mutually exclusive resolution: resolves to 'KT Wiz' if KT Wiz wins, or 'Doosan Bears' if Doosan Bears wins. Tie/cancellation/postponement without makeup resolves 50-50. Key Quote: 'This market will resolve to KT Wiz if the KT Wiz win the game.'
  • Kalshi: Stated as Yes/No market on KT Wiz victory, but description illogically claims both KT Wiz winning AND Doosan Bears winning both resolve to Yes. This is a logical contradiction that prevents settlement. Key Quote: 'If KT Wiz wins... resolves to Yes. If Doosan Bears wins... resolves to Yes.'

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price events differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market's odds reflect what thousands of traders are willing to risk, often incorporating faster information flow than traditional sportsbooks. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook lines can reveal where public perception diverges from professional oddsmakers, potentially signaling value or consensus shifts.

On Polymarket, traders set odds through an automated market maker, while Kalshi uses an order-book model, creating structural differences in price discovery. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Liquidity concentration, user demographics, and fee structures also drive wedges between venues. One platform may attract more casual traders, while the other draws professionals, shifting the marginal price. Monitoring both venues reveals which trader cohort is more confident and can highlight temporary mispricings before they arbitrage away.

Key catalysts include injury announcements, lineup changes, recent team performance, and head-to-head historical trends. Weather conditions and venue factors can also shift trader sentiment. Major roster moves or coaching decisions in the days before the game often trigger sharp repricing. Social media sentiment, expert commentary, and betting syndicates entering the market can accelerate price swings. Monitoring KBO news feeds and team announcements helps you anticipate moves before they're fully priced in across both platforms.
