This event group covers a KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) regular season game between the Kiwoom Heroes and Hanwha Eagles scheduled for July 17, 2026 at 5:00 AM EDT. Markets on both Polymarket and Kalshi are tracking the outcome of this single baseball game.
This is a market on the KBO baseball game between Kiwoom Heroes and Hanwha Eagles, scheduled for July 17 at 5:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Kiwoom Heroes" if the Kiwoom Heroes win the game. This market will resolve to "Hanwha Eagles" if the Hanwha Eagles win the game. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the KBO. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Resolution is determined by the final result of the game originally scheduled for July 17, 2026 at 5:00 AM EDT. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes within two days. Should the game be cancelled or rescheduled more than two days away, the market resolves to a fair price per standard procedures. Tied games resolve to 50/50.
Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks use different mechanisms to set odds. Sportsbooks employ oddsmakers who set lines based on statistical models and betting patterns, then adjust to manage risk. Prediction markets, by contrast, let traders themselves determine prices through continuous buying and selling, creating a crowdsourced consensus. This market reflects what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, often incorporating information faster than traditional books update their lines. Many traders use sportsbook odds as a reference point and then compare them to this market's pricing to identify discrepancies. Over time, prediction market odds have proven competitive with or more accurate than sportsbook lines for similar events.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which can cause temporary price divergence. Polymarket and Kalshi may also have slightly different market designs or settlement rules that influence how traders perceive risk. Geographic differences in user base, platform UI preferences, and promotional activity can shift capital between venues. Additionally, if one platform experiences higher trading volume or attracts more informed traders on a given day, its price may lead the other. These gaps typically narrow as arbitrageurs exploit mispricings, but they persist long enough to offer traders opportunities to compare valuations before placing bets.
Key injury announcements, roster changes, or unexpected player absences can shift odds significantly, especially if star pitchers or hitters are unavailable. Recent team performance streaks, head-to-head historical matchups, and weather conditions on game day all influence trader sentiment. Major lineup adjustments or managerial decisions announced before first pitch often trigger sharp price moves. Trading volume typically spikes in the final hours before the game as casual bettors enter and professionals fine-tune positions. Real-time in-game developments—such as early scoring or pitching changes—will drive this market if it remains open during play. Monitor team social media, KBO official channels, and sports news for breaking updates that could reshape expectations.
