This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis match between Karolina Muchova and Anastasia Zakharova at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 29. The winner of set 2 will determine the market resolution.
Resolution is determined by which player wins set 2 in the match. If the match does not occur before it begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who have real money at stake on outcomes. This market's odds may move faster or slower than sportsbook lines depending on trader activity and information flow. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value or where consensus differs between casual bettors and active prediction market participants.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by the market; a share trading at 65 cents implies roughly a 65% chance of that outcome occurring. Liquidity and trading volume directly influence how quickly prices adjust to new information. As match conditions change or fresh data surfaces, traders adjust their positions, causing the odds to shift in real time.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the second set of the match concludes and the winner is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official match records and tennis governing bodies. Until that point, the market remains open for trading, and odds may fluctuate based on live match developments, player performance, and injury updates. Resolution occurs automatically once the result is confirmed and recorded.
Several factors could shift odds in this market before resolution. Early set performance—breaks of serve, momentum swings, or tactical adjustments—often triggers significant repricing as traders update their win probability estimates. Player injuries or physical fatigue visible during play can rapidly alter sentiment. Weather conditions, court surface conditions, or unexpected match delays may also influence trading. Additionally, pre-match news such as recent form, head-to-head records, or player statements can move the market before the first serve.
