This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis match between Karen Khachanov and Yannick Hanfmann at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64, scheduled for July 2. The winner of set 2 will determine the corresponding market resolution.
The market resolves to Yes if either Karen Khachanov or Yannick Hanfmann wins set 2 of their 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 match. If the match does not occur before it begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus—what participants genuinely believe will happen. This market aggregates decentralized beliefs without a house edge, so odds can move more fluidly based on new information, player form, or court conditions. Comparing the two can reveal whether the broader betting public sees value differently than prediction traders do.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability traders assign to that outcome, ranging from $0 to $1. As new information emerges—such as player injuries, recent form, or head-to-head records—traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market stays responsive to real-world developments leading up to Set 2.
This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, once Set 2 of the Khachanov vs Hanfmann match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the second set outright; if the match does not reach Set 2 or is abandoned, the market may be voided or settled according to Kalshi's standard rules. Traders should monitor official match reporting to anticipate resolution timing.
Several factors could shift odds before Set 2 concludes. Player performance in Set 1—momentum, break points, and tactical adjustments—often influences Set 2 dynamics and trader confidence. Injury announcements, weather conditions, or court surface changes can also sway expectations. Real-time match commentary and live scoring updates may prompt traders to reassess probabilities as the set unfolds. Head-to-head records, recent tournament form, and serve-and-volley patterns are additional catalysts that active traders monitor to time their positions.
