This set of markets focuses on predicting the margin of victory in the fourth quarter of a college football game between Kansas State and Cincinnati. Each market corresponds to a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded by either team to resolve as a win.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the fourth quarter of the Kansas St. vs Cincinnati college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026, excluding any overtime periods. For markets where Kansas St. is the favorite, resolution occurs if Kansas St. wins the fourth quarter by more than the specified point spread (e.g., over 10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points). Conversely, for markets where Cincinnati is the favorite, resolution occurs if Cincinnati wins the fourth quarter by more than the specified point spread (e.g., over 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points). If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result. If the game fails to start within the 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. No overtime points factor into any resolution determinations.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, particularly as an event approaches. While sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, this market aggregates the insights of many individual traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in how each assesses the probability of a particular outcome. It's common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information emerges.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the fourth-quarter spread. The price of each contract indicates the probability of that spread occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a specific spread, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable traders are rewarded and those with inaccurate beliefs may incur losses. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to converge towards a fair assessment of the event's likelihood.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final fourth-quarter spread of the Kansas State vs Cincinnati game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body of college football. The winning contract will correspond to the spread that accurately reflects the final point difference in the fourth quarter, as determined by official game statistics. Traders holding the winning contract will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Kansas State or Cincinnati teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect the passing or running game, could also shift the market. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first three quarters—if one team establishes a substantial lead—could lead to traders adjusting their positions, causing the spread to move. Public perception and late-breaking analysis from sports commentators may also play a role.
