Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning closely with sportsbook odds but sometimes diverging based on information or perspectives not fully captured by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. Discrepancies can arise from differing risk appetites, access to unique data, or simply the collective insight of the crowd. It’s common to see this market move in response to news or events that impact perceived probabilities, potentially leading to differences from initial sportsbook offerings.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's current expectation of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the second half winner. The closer we get to the event, the more the price will likely converge towards either 100 (certainty of one outcome) or 0 (certainty of the other). The market depth indicates the volume available at different price points, showing how easily large orders can be filled.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning team of the second half of the Kansas State vs Cincinnati game will determine the outcome. The result will be based on the official game statistics and final score as reported by official sources. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the market settlement. Traders holding contracts on the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on the losing team will forfeit their stake.
